Eternally Yours |
This is the revised edition of 'Immortally Yours'... One of my friends suggested I change the title, and realizing he was right, I did... I dedicated this poem to someone whom I loved and adored dearly... But I never ever had the chance to express my love for him... He was married and had a tragic accident that claimed both his life and his wife's... I finished this poem within a week... - brc |
Long
before when the world, was not yet in its place I've made a pact with time, a promise I've embraced When words meant everything, equating one's own life I've sworn to love you forever, beyond death and time Perpetuity of life, kept us always apart Snatching you away from me, breaking up my heart And just when I decided to follow you my dear When nature couldn't stop me, allowed fate to interfere When I thought I'd be able to reach you Truth slapped my face, I got hurt and I fell I couldn't bear the fact you found somebody new I was crushed and torn apart and confined to hell How could you possibly forget our love, oh my sweet? When you knew very well, you're the only one I most heed Yet, I couldn't blame you, so I accept my defeat Lord of heavens, I beg thee, give me the strength that I need Your happiness, my love, is what matters most to me Even if we're not together, in my heart, we'll always be I wish her to give you a love so pure and divine I pray she'll be the one who had the love greater than mine It'll cost her everything if ever she'll break your heart For I begged Lord of heavens, if she does, make it halt But I did wonder when she left you went with her to depart Perhaps to return to me and to the love we've known from the start But it's late now my darling, for I still have to stay For now I'm entrapped in a law I have to obey If only I knew this would end so quickly I could have waited for you in heaven, ever and patiently Now you're in heaven and I'm still here on earth I intend to abide by my vow, no matter how much I was hurt My word of honor, I give you, though life may change its course The love I have oh my dearest, will be eternally yours... |
