How does WideLines help Producers (Agents and Brokers)?
With WideLines, Producers can gain instant access to virtually all commercial insurance markets. Producers also cut administrative costs by using WideLines' on-line forms that are pre-populated with the Producer's and clients' information, and by using their personal "My WideLines" database to track submissions, quotes, and policy terms.

How does WideLines help Underwriters (Carriers, MGA's, and MGU's)?
With WideLines, Underwriters can reach a much broader network of revenue-generating Producers and can drastically reduce administrative costs using patent-pending XML technology.

Will WideLines create proprietary sites for Underwriters?
Yes. WideLines develops proprietary sites for Underwriters. These sites, which are licensed under the name SignatureLines, contain the Underwriter's customized forms, rating algorithms and branding. SignatureLines employs the same XML technology as the WideLines Marketplace, and allows the Underwriter to communicate directly with its Producer network. WideLines can create a SignatureLines site for Underwriters in as little as four weeks, and at a fraction of the cost of internal or outsourced development.

How much does it cost to use WideLines?
WideLines is free for Producers. Underwriters pay an average of $10 for each submission received through WideLines. Underwriters will also pay an additional fee for online policy binding and issuance. For a SignatureLines site, Underwriters pay a licensing fee, an annual hosting and support fee, and a per transaction fee.

Do Producers collect commissions?
Yes. Producers collect customary, stated commissions from Underwriters.

How do I enroll in WideLines?
Simply go to the WideLines home page, select Producer or Underwriter enrollment, and enter the required information.

Is WideLines secure?
Yes. The WideLines site utilizes secure socket layer with 128-bit encryption, the highest level of security currently available. WideLines will continually update its security as new technology becomes available.

Who will be able to see the submissions a Producer makes through WideLines?
Only Underwriters chosen by the Producer are able to view submission data. No other Underwriters or Producers will ever see a submission.

What is XML and how does it benefit Underwriters?
XML is a relatively new technology that allows for the seamless transfer of data in different forms. With WideLines' patent-pending XML technology, Underwriters can receive submission data directly into their underwriting databases without manually re-keying information. Where possible, WideLines uses the XML protocols developed by ACORD. For more information on XML technology, please click "Technology" above.

If Underwriters don't want submission data in XML format, can they receive it in other formats?
Yes. WideLines can deliver submission data to Underwriters in any format they choose, including HTML, email, fax or comma separated value (i.e., data that can be downloaded into a spreadsheet).

Are Underwriters required to use WideLines' online forms?
WideLines will provide one universal form for each line of business. Underwriters can use these forms or, if they choose, WideLines will create customized forms for Underwriters on a SignatureLines site.

Does WideLines provide technical support to Producers and Underwriters?
Yes. If you need technical help, please contact us at technicalsupport@widelines.com.

Can Producers and Underwriters bind online?
Policy binding and issuance is coming soon. Presently, once a Producer chooses a quote from an Underwriter, the two must undertake the customary policy binding and issuance process.
