Other Questions
Here are a few other questions that have been presented to me about AIM. If you don't see your question here or in one of the other areas, please e-mail me! It may be that I haven't gotten a chance to add it yet, or it may be that no one has asked it yet! Who knows? Maybe your question might end up here to help others. :)
You have to turn on AOL so you can use AIM
Well, this is one I've never experienced. You shouldn't have to start up AOL in order to use AIM since they're separate programs. If this is a problem you've experienced, send me an e-mail with a description and we'll figure it out!
AOL people have to use AIM to talk to AIM people
I've heard people say this before, but it's false. If you know people who only use AIM and you want to use AOL to chat with them, go for it! Of course, you have to know their AIM screenname to do so. Also, if they're blocking you on their buddy list, there's nothing you can do about it. You won't be able to use AOL or AIM to chat with them at that point. When people who are on AIM try and contact you while you're on AOL, you'll get a little box that says, "The internet user So-And-So has sent you an Instant Message. Would you like to accept?" All you have to do is click on the "Ok" button to accept it and it works just like IMs on AOL at that point. :) If you want to learn more about IMs on AOL, we've got a section on that listed back on the main pages. :)Now, if you want to chat with someone on AIM, you do have to use AIM to do it, or they have to use AOL. See the section on chatting for more info on that!
