I got my student nurse uniform today! :)

I put it over my clothes to try for size in school and when I got home, the first thing I did was to put it on again just to have a closer look at how I look like in the nurse uniform. :) It's a white shift, A-line, with blue bias binding at the sleeves and a blue yoke. It actually seems to make me look younger. :) Cute! hehe!

We were told that we must pass our clinical lab (simulated wards) test week after next if we want to be able to start our first attachment with the hospitals in October. We'll be tested on the Vital Signs : TPR (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration) and BP (Blood Pressure). We were told that we'll be given a patient case history and we'll be assessed on how well we understand the patient's situation and the subsequent recommendations we make on how we're going to measure and record his/her TPR as well as how competent we are in our skills.

I'm actually quite nervous about the test. Looks like from now till then, it's time to not only practice till I'm perfect in the skills, but it's also time to hit the books and make sure I understand all those terms like dyspnoea, bradycardia, yada-yada-yada so well that I'll be able to recall them with no sweat during the test. Well, I've been forewarned so let's see if I'll be able to fend off procrastination! :P

I'm also quite happy because I've finally managed to gather together and form a study group. I always believe it's very important to find like-minded people who are equally serious about their work to come together to learn together. We all need to be egged on now and then, we all need encouragement and of course, we need to work in groups for some projects. I get along well with everyone in my group and they are a bunch of bright young folks so I hope it will work out. Last Friday, we had a pretty enjoyable time discussing a tutorial in one of the meeting rooms in the library and we're looking forward to our next discussion. :)

I'm also proud that my English presentation group seem to have put things together quickly and I like it this way, chop! chop! I'm kinda proud of myself, really, for being able to get things going but I hope that my enthusiasm will see me through the entire course. I certainly hope it's not some new broom sweeps clean sorta enthusiasm. :P

More than anything, I hope that I don't have to attend anymore English classes after the presentation next week. Frankly, I'll be pretty devastated if I had to continue English lessons - I'd consider that such a great insult. humph!
