I finally lost my week-long fight against flu. :( I've been drinking lots of fluid, taking lots of vitamin C, taking special care of my diet, hoping to keep the flu at bay. My throat did feel better sometimes but it always felt sore again later. Last night, I felt the chills in the lecture theatre and I went home feeling feverish. I woke up this morning feeling really awful. :(

We had to go to school today for a library orientation. Since nursing students have to do a lot of research, it was vital that we attend. We were shown how to access the online database for Ovid, a huge medical and nursing journals database, as well as the Ovid CD database. Subscription to Ovid's services isn't cheap so I guess we'll all be using it a lot in school.

After the library, we went to the clinical labs again for some practice. I listened to my own Apex beat as well as that of another classmate. Then we drew the curtains around our ward bed and practiced palpation on each other. We didn't know what to feel for but it was fun anyway. hehehe!

We had plenty of time to kill after that as we will be proceeding to the Bata warehouse to get our shoes to complete the student nurse outfit only later in the evening. Me and two other friends spent time having a leisurely lunch and then telling each other jokes. We were supposed to meet another classmate only at 3pm in the MRT station so we moved over to the Koi pond and talked some more. The school grounds is really beautiful and I really should have brought my camera to take some shots to post online. I will ... soon. ;)

I went home immediately after purchasing my shoes. I'm pretty surprised that they are white sports shoes because I thought they'd be the typical white sneakers worn by nurses. But they are so comfortable, who's complaining? And at a special rebate price of $12.50 (US$7.35) per pair, they're really a great bargain. :) The only thing missing now is our pair of socks. Sounds sorta silly but the school has made it compulsory for us to get our socks from them because it has a special imprint of our school logo. :P Like who's going to look at our socks. *rolls eyes*

I felt so sick, I took some medicine and had an early night. I hope I'll get well before the week starts because I can't afford to be ill and miss classes. The schedule is so tight that missing a single class would cause great disruption. :/ Oh well, I'm praying!
