Hello, my name is Cassandra, and I'm 17.I'm commonly called Catt. The name was given to me by my friends because I love cats <^..^> I live in south Alabama (near Mobile). I live with my mom (Bonnie), my dad (John), my brother (also John), age 23 (almost), and my two cats, Katt (11 yrs old) and Dusty (almost 2 yrs). I had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, pre B Cell. I was dx. March of 1993, and I went through 3 years of chemo in Mobile. I relapsed in October 1996 (6 months off chemo) and went to Duke University in Durham, NC for a Bone Marrow Transplant, and I got it on 2/7/97. My dad was my donor, with a 4/6 match. Now I'm over 2 years out and doing fantastic with minimal joint troubles. I go back to Duke once a year now for routine checks. Some of my hobbies include: Beanie Babies (I have over 140 - lost count somewhere - and know just about everything about them); Cats (but of course!); reading everything in sight; SNES - fav games are Tetris, Dr. Mario and Arkanoid (great skill games); wasting time online (when I have time to waste < grin >); spending time with all of my friends (of which I have many); listening to music (most all types, but mostly pop rock/alt.); and more things that would go on forever! Right now in school (4/99), I'm very busy! I was recently inducted into the National Honor Society, and that's been keeping me hopping! I spend a great deal of my time with friends, as I mentioned already. Our group is rather large, made up of mostly the people who don't fit into other groups normally (preps, "gangs", punks, etc.). We're overall really close. I'll have pictures of some of them soon. No boyfriend now, but someone already has my heart. I don't speak of him much. Maybe that will change soon... As for the future (graduating in 2000), I think I'm going into the field of meterology (The earth fascinates me...). I'm thinking of attending U of West FL in Pensacola or Duke (if I can get a scholarship there!). Recently, I had my Make A Wish. My wish was to meet and spend the day with Scott Hamilton. He's always been my favorite ice skater of all. I watched him every time I could, and sometimes when I was at my worst in the hospital, seeing him could bring a smile to my face. On March 28, 1999, I flew (with my parents) to Fayetteville, NC. I have to admit that it wasn't all that I had expected originally, but it still was THE best day of my life. Scott's a very kind man, and an excellent ice skater. As some of the crew calls him aptly, he's the skate god! While I was there, I got to meet most of the rest of the crew of Stars on Ice. That was a real treat! Also, I watched warm-ups on the ice, got to go backstage (before and after the show), and see the show on the ice. It's a whole new perspective seeing a show so close. It's truly a day I weill NEVER forget in my life. I'm in the process of making a scrapbook of my pictures (many, many, many pcitures), tickest, passes, etc. I hope that it turns out great enough to portray this special day.
