Ni-Ta-Nee NOW
Meeting News updated March 1, 1999

Ni-Ta-Nee NOW is the local chapter of the National Organization for Women. Our homebase is State College, PA, and we serve the Centre County region.

Ni-Ta-Nee NOW is proud to be a part of the leading feminist organization in the country. Meetings are held monthly. The purpose of local chapters is to promote the sentiments of the National Organization for Women at the community level. NOW is founded on and believes in grassroots organizing to bring attention to current systems that are oppressive to women and other minorities. To that end, Ni-Ta-Nee NOW keeps a look-out for any injustices that arise from local happenings.

Ni-Ta-Nee NOW members come from all over. You do not have to be a resident of State College or Centre County to be a member. Many Penn State students are members of Ni-Ta-Nee NOW and choose as well to be involved in Women Advocates
and/or Womyn's Concerns, both university women's organizations. Women Advocates is affiliated with Ni-Ta-Nee NOW as a campus task force. Refer to Related Sites for other Penn State sites that address women's issues.

Meetings:

NOW meetings always cover business & action agendas; they also usually include an educational program on a women's issues concern. All meetings are accessible. The meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of each month in the Large Meeting Room at 7:00 p.m. at Schlow Library, 100 East Beaver Avenue, State College. Schlow Library is ramped & has an elevator. If you have any special needs (e.g., signer, child care, etc.) that need to be accommodated in order to attend our meetings, please let us know in advance so that we can make any additional arrangements needed.

We are continually looking for good chapter program ideas. If you have other ideas for chapter meeting programs and/or would be willing to do a program presentation for the chapter, please email us at nitaneenow@earthlink.net. If you would like to do a presentation, include the month that you would be available.

What's Going on at Upcoming Meetings:
