I met Mike Lester my first year serving as a Child Evangelism Fellowship Summer Missionary.  Honestly, I don't remember how we actually met and got started talking.  He gave me some advice about one of my classes I would be taking at Appalachian Bible College, because he had taken the class.  I remember talking to him about ABC.  When I finally got to ABC, he was one of two people I already knew and it was those two people who got me introduced to my first group of friends on campus, which included my future husband.  He told me that he hadn't really believed I would come to ABC, because many other people had told him they were coming and never showed up.  It wasn't until Mike graduated that year that we really became close.  I looked up to him as a kind of big brother/uncle.  I call him my Uncle Mike.  I have always been very proud and supportive of him, especially when he made the decision to serve in Hong Kong.  Thanks to the internet, we are able to stay in close communication, since we all are practically family.  He was the first one to get my son to laugh when Bradley was three months old.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.
