You should have a quiet time each day. When you have it is up to you and your schedule. Try to make it at least half an hour, an hour ideally. Have a cup of tea or coffee, whatever you r favourite drink may be. When relaxing I enjoy herbal tea. I think the best herbal teas are Celestial Seasonings, and one of their best teas for relaxing is Tension Tamer. Listen to some relaxing music, write in your journal, read a book. Unwind. |

I would recommend getting a copy of the audiobook "Simple Abundance--Living by Your Own Lights," by Sarah Ban Breathnach. It has a lot of good ideas about simplifying your life and finding yourself. She teaches you how to integrate spirituality and everyday life. One word of caution, she speaks of spirituality but it is very loose, open to interpretation. My opinion is that her view of spirituality is the New Age philosophy. However, I think she has good insights and if you approach the ideas from a Christian persepctive and integrate God's word into it this will be a rewarding experience. |

One thing I'd like to point out is that everyone can find truth, and all truth is God's truth, whether it be discovered and presented by a scientist, professor, guru or pastor. But you must determine whether it is truth or opinion, and that must be done through study of God's word. As long as it does not contradict what God has revealed to us in His scriptures and it does not draw you away from them, then it is okay. Sometimes things may not seem to contradict or lead you away, but you are still uneasy about it. This would be the Holy Spirit speaking to you, and it is best to heed His guiding. |
