William Creek and wife Harriett Viles arrived in Sydney on the 23 July 1857 aboard the ship " Alfred". Their baby son Harry had died during the journey.
They were both from Chesterton, Cambridgeshire, England. William was a farm labourer and groom, and Harriet was a cook. William continued to work as a gardener and grow his own vegetables for selling at the markets.
William's parents were Thomas and Alice. Harriett's parents were William and Sarah.
William and Harriett settled in Burwood , NSW and had five children:
William (1861), was a saddler. He moved to Queensland and changed his name to William Thompson, and married a woman named Kate.
Walter Creek (1858-1936) was a tradesman. He never married.
Alice Helen (1864-1956) married Charles Joseph Cowell.
Henry (1868-1922)
Arthur (1871) was a tradesman. He never married.
