Our Romantic Honeymoon!

NEW See pictures of our honeymoon suite!

We could't afford a honeymoon of our own, so Jamie's friends at work got together and paid for a room in the Wild Iris Inn in LaConner, Washington where all rooms come with their own jacuzzi and cost well over $120 American a night. (But, they are well worth it!!) They gave us a scroll with the news of our reservation on it at the engagement party that they threw for us.

The day after the wedding we drove over the border and into the beautiful state of Washington. When we arrived in the small town of LaConner, we started thinking that there were only two lesbians in this town, and they were both in the car with us! But, we were determined to enjoy the gift we had been giving!

When we got to the Inn we found out that we were one of only two reservations made for that night. So, we got to go through the Victorian style house which had been transfered into an Inn and pick the room that we wanted. Of course, we choose the honeymoon suite with the largest bed and jacuzzi.

The room was so beautiful! The bed was the biggest one we had ever seen in our lives. It was covered with a pillowy white comforter and tons of matching pillows. Surrounding the bed was the silky film of a thin white material, adding a romantic feel to the whole room. At the foot of the bed was the gas fire place and just beside that was the huge jacuzzi. The whole room was painted a lofty baby blue mixed with white, giving you the feeling that you are in a luxurious cloud. Various beautiful art works also graced the wall, adding a touch of elegence.

In the room there was also a really big bathroom with a shower and a closet for our cloths. On either side of the bed there was a night table with white shaded lamps with tasteful beads draping down.

We later unpacked our suitcases and decided to go and find a resturant and have some dinner. The only place that didn't serve plates that cost more than our luggage was a small pizza place where we had some relatively good food. We drove around for a few minutes and enjoyed the beautiful scenery before stopping at a grocery store and picking up some snacks and some cheap Champaigne. When we returned to the room, we enjoyed a jacuzzi bath while sipping on Champaigne. The whole experience was so beautiful and very romantic.

The next day we enjoyed the breakfast which came with our room, enjoyed one last jacuzzi bath, got ready, and checked out. We spent several hours walking around and looking through all of the stores in the very tourist oriented town. We bought a few tokens of rememberance and finally, tired and missing our cat, we decided to head back home.
