A little bit about me: I'm 6', 180 lbs., brown eyes behind glasses, salt and pepper short hair, mostly pepper, short salt and pepper beard and stache, mostly salt. I like to walk and will be working out at the gym in our new apt comples. I am moderately hairy on my chest, arms and legs.
In February I got an email from someone on the Internet who had seen my picture and wrote to say hello. There was something about his message and the picture he included of himself that touched something deep inside of me. I wrote back and that started something that has brought me much joy and happiness. Kenzie. There are pictures of him and his artwork on other pages here. But in such a short time I have grown to love him. He came for a visit in mid April and I went to California for two visits. Being President of the Chesapeake Bay Bears kept me busy, and my involvement in the Bears Den on Gay.com has brought me many friends and much joy.
Time for an update, it is now almost October and Kenzie was in Maryland in April for a long weekend and I flew to California to spend 18 days with him. We made plans for me to move there to be with him, and I went back in July to look at apartments and spend more time with him. Our love has just grown more and more. He has been everything that I have been looking for in a partner.
Well I am finally in California, actually I've been here almost a month, having left Maryland at the end of August and arriving in California Labor Day Weekend. Kenzie and I are settling into our new apt and I'm loving every minute of each day. I've never been happier than I am at this time.
Kenzie is a collector of Tarantula Spiders, I like looking at them, but haven't gotten around to holding one of them yet. Only time will tell if I do.
My family consists of my sister who lives in Laurel with her husband, my nephew and niece. She has 5 cats, at least at last count!!!.
I was born on June 23,1942 in New York City, which makes me a Cancer (see my sun sign in the horoscope section) I think it describes me pretty well. I've lived most of my life in the Washington, DC area. It is an interesting place, very diverse, very changing, and very challenging. I graduated from Northwood High School in Silver Spring, MD in 1960. I attended the University of Maryland graduating in 1964 with a BS in Business. From 1965 until 1971 I worked at the Hecht Department Store. From 1972 until 1996 my family and I ran Buried Treasure, Inc in Rockville, MD. We started out as a lapidary store, an outgrowth of a hobby and ended as a Computer store specializing in Commodore Computers manufacturers of the infamous C-64 and the Amiga.

Well here is the promised link to the Hanky Code page, I'm still not sure what all the colors mean myself and I don't wear a hanky because of that, but maybe by studying the code I just might take to wearing one, or two, or three, so many choices and so little time!! Oh Yes, the hanky Code page is here.
My hobbies are freshwater tropical fish, I have a 120, 45, 20 and 4-10 gallon tanks in the house some set up and some not. I am in the process of tearing each one down and resetting them, new filters, plants (plastic this time) and new fish. So far as of September 98, I've got the 120, the 45, the 20 and three of the 10 gallon tanks set back up. I've slowly been adding fish, well maybe not so slowly, something about seeing small schools of fish swimming around is very comforting. I had one large Cardinal Neon left from the original setup and just added two batches of 10 small Neons, they must have thought the old Cardinal Neon was their mother because they follow her wherever she swam. Last week I added 8 small tiger barbs and they also school very nicely, I thought the zebra danios would school but they just chase each other and the long fined danios all over the tank. Of course a couple of the zebra's like to keep the tiger barbs from nipping at the fins of the old veil fined angel fish that is one of the old fish in the tank. My live bearers, which are set up in the 20 and 55 gallon tanks in the back part of the basement are doing good as well, should have some nice fish to transfer to the larger tank in a couple of month, silver sailfin mollies and black lyretail mollies and some gold and red wag swords. Next week I might buy a pair of those hi-fin red wag platys I saw in the store last week (if they are still available). Might make for an interesting combination if they and the swords mate. Looks like I will be selling off all the small tanks and if there is room in the new apartment in California, just taking the 120 Gallon tank with me when I move. It would make a great room divider.
Stamp collecting, which is an on again off again thing, every couple of years I get the urge to order supplements and get a few new stamps. I also enjoy cooking even after spending 14 of my 20 years in the Army Reserve as a cook. I love to try new recipes and when something works add it to my collection. And last spring I started working on the yard after several years of letting it just sit, making flower beds, cutting back some old bushes and trees and cleaning up. This spring I plan on adding some more plants, just planted two azaleas and some annuals. More after the danger of frost is past.
When I get a chance to read my favorite books are science fiction, I especially like books by Anne McCaffrey, and have read her Dragon Hold books several times. Another author I enjoy is Jean M. Auel and her Earth's Children (TM) series.
