Caucus Gatherings Planned for Reunion
Weekend and Homecoming After much discussion and input the Caucus has formed a committee to plan future events. Initially these are being planned to occur in conjunction with both Reunion Weekend and Homecoming. Ideas for other future events and programs are being reviewed. The Committee consists of Jose Rodriguez '89, Victor Jaccarino '68, Joe Felsman '89, and Michael Ranney '67. Reunion Weekend will be June 5-6, 1999. There will be an opportunity for GLBT alums and current students to enjoy an informal social gathering. The details will be announced soon on the Caucus Website, via the e-mail group and by mail. For Homecoming (a.k.a. Homocoming) a similar social event will be planned. This social function will be complimented by a more formal program involving alumni, current students and key Allegheny administration officials discussing the value of diversity to the Allegheny experience and the support system that current students have via the caucus and its members. We'd hope there could be some airing of issues current students have with campus life and the alumni and administration role in promoting changes that will lead to greater acceptance. Since the Committee is just beginning its planning, there is an opportunity to share ideas on what these two events should be. Suggestions would be appreciated. The Committee would also welcome volunteers to help and ideas of other activities that would help the caucus define and fulfill its mission. You can volunteer or send your ideas to: Michael O. Ranney 67 Watch for details of these events in future mailings and on the website's main page.
