Profile

Wayne McGregor
Guitar, Lead Vocals

Wayne is a budding lawyer by profession, completing his studies at the Norman Manley law school. He is a guitarist and vocalist, having played semiprofessionally for the last five years.

His interest in music began at the age of 11, when he got a few piano lessons, but these did not last for long. He got "infected with the guitar bug" after being introduced to Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix at the age of 17. He has been trying to play the guitar with this teeth and other body parts effectively ever since.

Wayne first became known on the Jamaican scene as the lead singer/ bassist for "the good the bad and the ugly" whom he played with from 1995 to 1997. He left Jamaica in 1997 to pursue his law degree, but his studies did not stop his hunger for distorted guitar. Whilst in Barbados, he played in every club that showcased live music and that would not kick him out for the high decibel range.

He played first with established Bajan bar band Level Vibes, then Lil Rock before finally Fronting Blues Therapy where he did the most musical damage. He also guested as a session musician on a couple of reggae shows and did a few jingles.

Upon his return he started paying at Harry's Bar with friend and accomplished guitarist Omar Francis as part of two guitars, which shifted from the functional to the weird, "Las Putas del Caribe". He later joined "Soul Case" with Omar at the behest of Gordon Scott and the band has since released a CD.
