Community Info. & Links

If you live in Denton, are moving to Denton or if you are going to be in Denton for a while you may need some local info. Below are a few links that can help you out. Whether you need to find out about what movies are showing at the mall or where the Dept. of Public Safety is you'll find what you need through one of the guides below.

Local Information Links

  • The Eagle's Eye: This is a site put together by UNT School of Library and Information Sciences graduate students. Overall it's the most thorough information site. You'll find a huge variety of links for the Metroplex. Look for subjects ranging from "apartments" to "zoos". Click on "Index" to view an alphabetical list of links for this site.

 

  • City Of Denton: This is another excellent source for a variety of information. This is the city's web site and has all the information you'll need for its various infrastructure. My personal favorite page off this site is "Restaurant Health Scores" so look for that.

 

  • GuideLive.com: This is a site by the Dallas Morning News for a variety of Metroplex information mainly focusing on entertainment. You can search by event, venue or type, i.e. music, theater, dance, etc. This site covers Denton, Dallas, Ft. Worth and all surrounding cities.

 

Newspapers

Here's a list of local newspapers online. You might find these sites frequently useful for their classified ads. By the way, if you have something to sell it's free to list in the Denton Record Chronicle as long as what you're selling totals no more than $200!
