I have been keeping an aquarium for about 32 years. I moved to reef aquaria in 1991 while
working in a pet shop. Since I now live in Austin Texas, my tank is still up and running in Iowa.
I have found that to secure quality products at a reasonable price, I needed to turn to the internet
for my many needs. I have put together a list of internet suppliers that I have found
on the internet. While this list is by no means an "in tota" of all suppliers, you should
be able to find almost anything you will need. In this paragraph, I have listed a few of
my favorite. I base my favorite on Price, Knowledge of Staff, Customer Service, Shipping,
and Business ETHICS. My favorite of all favorites is Jeff's Exoctics. Jennifer and Jeff
are excellent.
I have not used every supplier listed on my links page and so can not vouch for all of them.
I however have used Premium Aquatics,
Reef Fanatics, Jeff's Exotic, Reefers,
Harbour Aquatics, CoralFarms,
Marine Depot, and a few others.
I currently grow and sell corals, from mushrooms, buttons, leathers, and SPS. I only sell to
a local pet store, so please do not ask to buy anything from me. I am interested in
exchanging SPS is anyone is interested after I get moved. If you are interested in buying
SPS corals, I urge you to buy from Steve Tyree. His web page is
The League of Coral Reef Farmers. I recently bought a six pack from Atlantic Aquatics.
I will let you know how these do. I have placed pics of them here. They are the ones on the cement
disk.
(Update) Since I am now in Texas and my tank is still in Iowa, I will not be posing
any new pics for some time. I hopefully will get my tank moved here later this
spring. Since it has been 2 degrees (-47 windchill), I decided not to move my tank until
the weather will allow me to. Thanks to Jeff for maintaining my tank while I am away.
And of course, thank goodness for Aquacontroller II. I could not even consider leaving my
tank set up and running without the help of that device and the software. Jeff could never
perform all the tasks need to run such a complex set up without it. Heck, even feeding
can be a chore if you are not tank savy. Automation is GREAT.
