Hello, my name is Jack and I currently live in Vancouver, Canada. I am hesitant to call Vancouver my home because of my nomadic past. I was born in 1975 in Taiwan. I grew up in Asia as well as the United States and Canada. In 1998, I graduated from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, with a degree in Microbiology and Immunology. Immediately following graduation, I left for Germany via an exchange program for science students. My intended 2-month stay turned into a 1 year adventure living in Berlin and working at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology. Over the course of one year in Germany, I backpacked all over the country as well as Austria, Holland, France, Spain, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic. At the moment, I am studying Information Technology at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and working at a software company as part of my training. |

Before I re-vamped this homepage in October 2000, there was a lot of personal information here for people to read. However, I have decided to strip several pages of autobiographical information from this website because I don't want to be so public. It is strange for people to read all about my life with a few clicks of their mouse. Furthermore, I would hope that those who are truly interested in my past or current life would contact me. Nevertheless, this website is quite comprehensive in many ways and it is not difficult to see what my passions and hobbies are in life. Enjoy! Jack |
