I'd guess (I am not there yet), that the key is to look at things from a different angle, in a different light. Of course, I can not do this right now - but I can say to myself that EVEN though things will not change, I will be able to live with it in a whole different way than I do today.
Having done this, I'll consider whether I feel like talking to someone or not. I usually don't... So what I do is:
Get connected to the internet.
Chatting is for me a great way of communicating when I don't feel like letting anyone see me... There are thousands of chats, but I have mainly used:
RFSL's chat A chat mainly for gay people
Yahoo's chat A chat for anyone- there are lots of "rooms"
I also sometimes feel like reminding myself of that fact that I am not alone by reading message boards where I can also post a message if I feel like it. There are all kinds of boards for anyone. I have visited some anxiety and gay-oriented boards, for example:
iVillage a very nice anxiety-oriented board.
RFSL's boardA so-so board, as everyone seems to know eachother...
There are some homepages made by people like me:
Vivi's homepageShe writes her diary every day and has lots of links to pages.
Baking or cooking sometimes makes me feel good.
I just put it in the freezer and enjoy it when I regain my apetite... This is my favorite recipy of "kanelbullar":
Kanelbullar, mums...
Turn on the TV.
I record high-quality programs such as episodes of Frasier, Spin City, the Simpsons, Sex and the City... It's always great to have a few hours of taped comedies! And, of course, you can take a look at Xena (click on the bomb to take a look at her and get some links).
Go to the gym.
Well, one has to have quite a lot of energy for this, but afterwards, I often feel a lot better!
