In front of the two beasts
the waves were running,
towards the shoreline
as if they were after something
they cannot seem to catch.
The rat asks the insolent wolf :
"Is it true that you will never
roam back to that distant rabbit?"
The wolf replies, "Never!"
E asks, "Is it true you
shall never again celebrate eir charms?"
The wolf replies, "Never!"
E asks, "Is it true you
shall never again dream
of eir fatal caresses unto your fur?"
The wolf replies, "Never!"
The waves, while they spoke,
kept on running towards the shoreline
as if they were after something,
they cannot seem to catch.
E asks the wolf,
"Is it true that you shall
never forget me to think of em only?"
The wolf replies, "Never!"
E asks, "Is it true you shall
erase eir prints and name,
from your fur,
from your flesh,
from your mind,
from your heart,
from your soul?"
The wolf turns to the rat,
staring at em intensely,
The wolf replies with fervor
and conviction, "Never!"
They were silent..The waves
kept on running as the rat,
softly walked away from the wolf.
The waves kept on running towards
the shoreline as if they were after something
they couldn't seem to catch..
The wolf lied on the ground
pleased with emself..and a maniacal grin
formed on eir placid face as e howled into the distance.
