On Jan. 28 1944 the U.S.A.T. FARISLE, northward bound on its way from New Guinea to Guam, crossed the equator at latitude 000000, longitude 172" 43' 18"W. Aboard was parts of the 6th and 7th divisions. A certificate was given out to every soldier in honor of crossing the equator. Below is a list of 162 hand written names on my fathers certificate:
