Free donut maker

A Free Plan by Harley Sanders

Make your own donuts like a pro...for pennies...make the depositor for pennies!

Contrary to what most people believe, the pros do not roll out dough and cut them with a donut cutter like making biscuits. Nor do they “bake” them.

They make donuts with a “depositor” and use a batter like pancake batter. Maybe a little thicker. The batter is deposited into a very hot oil and fried, like French Fries, in spite of donut shops advertising for “donut bakers” when they need help.. This is true for all donuts except glazed and related types, such as twisters, apple fritters, maple and chocolate bars, etc. These are made with yeast dough, and are cut out with a donut cutter. Regular cake donuts, regardless of how they are glazed, are deep fried. Fortunately, the fat is hot enough that the dough soaks up a minimum amount of fat. So, donuts are not so unhealthy as many foods – pizza, for example.

You can make a very efficient, and cheap, donut depositor with some ½" plastic tubing, thin walled, about 1 foot in length attached to a cap off a bleach bottle (or any other bottle you choose, such as a two-liter pop bottle. Use crazy glue to attach the tubing to the cap. A hole must be drilled in the cap. Your husband can do this with an electric drill, or you can do it if you are resourceful, Make sure the glue is good and dry before using. Cut a hole in the bottom of whatever container you use for pouring in the batter. Fry in oil about 375 degrees F., or heat the oil until it is almost smoking. Use the following recipe to make your batter: (This is a mix and may be stored like Biscuit Mix, mix with milk when ready to use.)

2 Eggs; 1 C sugar, 5 T shortening (butter or margarine) Four C Flour (all purpose) 1/2 t cinnamon, 1/2 t salt, 1/4 t nutmeg. Mix the dry ingredients in a mixer or with a hand mixer.

{code: T = tablespoon, t = teaspoon, C = cup} Deposit directly into hot fat. Turn w/brown.
