Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

I'm wondering if I was a dormouse or some other small hibernatory creature last time around. All I seem to want to do at the moment is sleep. The fire was out again when I eventually did crawl out of bed so I ended up back in there again with my coffee. Normally I would have just lit kindling on top of the dead coals but I'd promised myself that the next time it went out I'd clear out he chimney and see if I could get a better draw from it.
The last thing I wanted to do was mess about with the chimney, but a promise is a promise. I was worried that when I took the bottom off the chimney all the dust would just go everywhere so I was wedged into an alcove with a bookshelf half blocking it and a big cloth draped over everything and peering in there with a torch until the last minute when I took out everything except my hand and let it fall. It all just fell straight down, no mess, very lucky. Then I lit the fire and when it was really going went off into town. I didn't really want to do that either, I only went in because I realised that my credit card payment was on the verge of being overdue. I had no other reason for being there so I invented one and went for lunch in the New Bridge Cafe. I was hungry, it was 3.00 pm by then and I hadn't got around to eating. It was pissing it down with rain and it seemed like a good way to waste some more of the day away.
The fire was roasting hot when I got home, I sat down to read a magazine and had to remove layers of clothing. Even the central heating seems to be working better. Seems like it was worth it to do that little job. After dinner I played a game of Boom with Hansi and then got bored and left her to play another while I had visit from Irene who came bearing a glass of wine. Then I got it into my head to take a picture of Jade (dog) being suckled by Kanga (kitten) and put them on a magic carpet flying over a landscape with, just for good measure, a rainbow in it. Where I get these nonsensical ideas from I have no idea but it keeps me occupied.
