Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Sleep, sleep, sleep, that's all I seem to be doing, that and tending the fire. It went so well yesterday, I was sure it would stay in, I was so sure that I shut it down too much and it went out. I struggled to get it going, it was burning, but slowly and it wasn't roaring up like it should have done. It took hours, piles of kindling and most of a whole candle, I had to go and chop more wood for it.
Eventually it was roaring enough that I could go into town and get stuff for dinner then come home and read the Saturday Guardian all afternoon until it was time to make dinner.
The dinner took longer than it should have done, both to cook and eat and the fire was nearly out again by the time I came back to it. So then I had to go through the same process I went through this morning to get it going again. There's quite a storm brewing outside and the wind has helped it to get going again. Everyone else has gone out partying, I've stayed home with the dogs and cats and the wind. I must remember to go and check that the kitchen door hasn't blown open before I go to bed. If I hadn't just had a bath I think I'd take the dogs out for a walk in the wind and the rain.
