I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
More requests from WIT this morning, fax this, post that. None of these people have heard of e-mail. Once I had dealt with that I went off into town with yet another bag of laundry, it is amazing how the imminent arrival of a Mother suddenly makes everything look so much dirtier than you thought it was. I bought a Cambrian News and looked through it while I was waiting for my egg and chips to arrive. They had printed a short item about WIT camp, although not exactly in the form I had sent them but that's journalism for you. I bought some new buckets as well as visiting the usual shops.
I've been having appauling browser problems here, Netscape constantly crashing on me and it's been so bad I've had to use Explorer... bleh. So after I got home I dumped every Netscape file I could find ('cept my bookmarks of course) and installed the Navigator standalone application. I never used all that other crap anyway. I was just finishing doing that when Clare turned up. We spent some time with the horses and gave them both a good brushing. Clare is very enthusiastic about lunging at the moment and desperate to get a lunging circle set up. She was wanting to rake a pathway in the hay to do it but I don't feel like messing about with the hay just in case it can be saved. Clare had to settle for taking Nelly out for a walk instead.
After dinner we finally had the house meeting I asked for over a week ago. We have now sorted out all the money stuff, committed to a day and a half of gardening a week and restarted the rota. The rota has been reorganised. It is now a very good rota indeed and I like it a lot. We've taken out one day a week to have for private dining, adults cook twice a week each, kids wash up twice a week each, adults wash up once except for me. I don't have to wash up. It was really just a function of mathematics and I selflessly volunteered to abstain from washing up. |
