I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
Well, the morning went by without a phone call from Tim but there was plenty other stuff going on to occupy myself with. I can't really remember what but I know I was doing stuff. |
I had another appointment with Diane the chiropractor in the afternoon so I left a bit early so that I could stop off at Llanfair shop and see whether there was any news of the Vicar. Steve in the shop didn't know anything and didn't really want to but he did suggest that I went to see Gwyneth again so I went to see if she was in. I was lucky, Gwyneth was in and she has obviously accepted that WIT are legitimate and responsible and after a while she agreed to phone the Vicar and see what was going on. Most of the conversation went on in Welsh so I didn't really know what was being said but the result of it was that he agreed to let us have the hall for the next fundraising gig in May. Great. But I was late for Diane by then and had to shoot off to Llandewi. I knew she'd be running late but that's not the point, I like being on time. I had a while to wait there and since she works out of a corrugated shack and doesn't have a waiting room I was outside looking at her chickens and sheep. One rooster was very interesting, I saw him last week as well, he goose steps around everywhere. Later Diane said that she thought he might have a problem with his pelvis, I'd just thought he was being an exhibitionist. Anyway, Diane hit me in the spine a lot and that was that. |
I wanted to go home and lie on the floor for a while but that was not really meant to happen. Clare was there when I got back, in the barn tidying up the baling twine. She thinks the horses are looking skinny and I shouldn't cut the hay ration yet and we should give them bucket feed as well, she'd put them in the orchard to have a munch on the fresh grass. One of the sacks of feed had gone maggotty, but the sugar beet is ok and Clare's going to get some more mix tomorrow. I thought they wouldn't want to go back in the field but there was some hay for them and they were quite willing. In the meantime a static caravan was in the process of being moved down the road and the hitch had started to come adrift and need welding just about when they got level with the house. They needed a power point to run the welder from so I set them up with a 50m extension lead from the small barn and they were then out in the road for hours making a big noise but they got it seen to in the end and went off after giving me a fiver for the leccy. I was wanting to have a lazy evening and even watch the tv or something like that but phone calls were coming in and lots of them required further action, like Hanna's ad for Diva., which turned out to be the wrong orientation and needed to be redone and Ruth called which reminded me that I was supposed to be booking plane tickets for us both and so I did that then phoned her back, and Heather phoned to talk about the agenda and the hall and the pigs. I managed to sit down eventually, but not till about 9.30 pm. |
