Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest? Well, this Sunday wasn't. Once the horses were fed and the fire cleaned out and re-lit I got straight onto printing and collating documents for tonight's WIT meeting. That done I finally got around to opening yesterday's post, which was, as I had thought, all money related and will have to be dealt with tomorrow. Well, sometime next week anyway.

Since Irene is away for a couple of week we have spread her jobs and Hansi's jobs out to fulfill the rota which meant that I had an extra cook night tonight. However since I was going to be out all evening I had to do it in the middle of the day. Well, I didn't have to, Lorna would have forgiven me under the circumstances but I knew that if I didn't cook for everybody I'd end up not getting around to eating myself. So I made some dinner, or was it lunch, I don't really know what you call a meal when you eat it at 3.00 pm. After that I somehow got sucked into a birdwatching session with Lauren while Lorna went out to finish off putting up the wire on the horse ring. Lauren hung up a bird feeder yesterday and we were watching the birds, mainly Blue Tits coming in to feed and Lauren got out all the bird books in the house and we were looking out and trying to identify them. Might have been easier if the window had been somewhat cleaner, there was a big bird came to rest on the telephone wire on the other side of the road and I'm sure we could have identified it if we had been able to see the markings on it properly.

Before I knew what was going on it was time to leave for the meeting. As usual I overestimated the amount of time it takes to get to Heather's house and was there early, unlike everybody else who had either got lost or underestimated the journey time. So the meeting started late and by the midway break we had only covered the first two points on an agenda with eleven points on it. We tried to rush it through but some things can't be rushed and of course we overran. It was about 11.00 pm by the time I left there, and I'm sitting here wondering where the day went to. And I've brought home lots of little jobs to be getting on with.
