Bluehook's Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

I slept late today because I didn't fall asleep till about 4.00 am and then the cat woke me at 6.00 am and again at 8.00 am, before finally settling down to sleep on my ribcage until 11.00 am. No huge hurry anyway. Lots of post today, I had a letter through from the artificial limb centre telling me to come in next tuesday (8th Dec.) so I rang and asked if I couldn't possibly come a bit sooner than that since this socket is driving me nuts. I spoke to Peter the prosthetist and he said I was meant to come in this Wednesday anyway and somebody must have got the appointments wrong, so I'm glad I phoned. This isn't even the new socket, this is a fitting with a check socket to see if the cast they took two weeks ago is right. Another bit of post was some sort of land use census from the Welsh Office which is totally bewildering to me and which will no doubt be consigned to the "yes, I will get around to that someday, honest I will" pile, along with the SWALEC wayleaves form.

When I went up to the field with hay this morning Nelly came charging at me bucking and kicking up her heels, I haven't seen her so lively in ages, Princess was further up the field and was slower to arrive and even though I'd put out two quite separate piles of hay Nelly didn't want Princess to have either and was doing some amazing backwards slide and kick moves. Fortunately she didn't actually kick her and she did stop quite soon, but it was looking a bit perilous for a moment there. It was quite nice out there today, cold but clear and fresh. I had to do stuff indoors though, I had to deal with all the piles. There were many piles in the office and in the sitting room. It took me a long time but I dealt with them all. I didn't go as far as to hoover afterwards but I thought I did pretty well. After that I just had to be outside for a while and went out to see Lorna who was chainsawing the tops of the posts off at an angle so that the rain can drain off and they don't rot. Then I went and cut up some planks and a few logs of pine and did a mamouth kindling making session. I've got kindling indoors but I was just doing it for the hell of it.

Eventually there was more kindling that I could contain and I ended up back indoors, farting about with html all afternoon, and all evening and then some more after dinner. Then I remembered that it is the 1st December tomorrow and had to spend even more time updating the diary index. And now it's bed time already. Another day gone by without me really knowing what happened to pass the time so quickly.
