my

Bluehooks Diary

I started doing this diary in June. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Well, it is a bit easier to get up when you actually go to bed at a reasonable hour and I was up in time to see David arriving with his tractor and trailer to collect all the old sheep wire. That was followed by several hours of barn re-organising. Since the hay has been delivered and I'm getting the new trailer and roto-tiller tomorrow there was an urgent need to make space in the barn and Lorna and I made a start and were joined by Lauren and Serena and the dogs and cats. Piles of stuff went in the compost and piles of stuff went into the rubbish and all the tools were sorted out and hung up or put away or put into the pile of headless tools (which includes two forks, a spade, an axe, a pickaxe, and two or three things that I have no idea what their purpose is) and the wood stash grew and anyway it looks much better in there now.

I just realised that I have missed a web picture moment. I haven't got a photo of me with the new arm yet but I do have a photo of the grypher unit which is on the front cover of the manual. It's a dreadfull scan but never mind, here it is. I've spent most of the rest of the day concentrating on learning to use the thing. I have finnally got the knack of switching modes and I can do that at will now. I've been sitting, standing, lying with my arm resting on my leg, over my head, held out straight in front, even with my eyes shut, rotating switching opening, switching rotating the other way and on an on. The only other thing I've actually done today is phone up and buy a whole load of RAM to go in my computer, (giving it 288mb altogether which should help matters somewhat) and apart from that and falling asleep in front of the fire for a while I've pretty much been hanging around twitching my forearm muscles the whole time. I'm doing pretty well with the going to bed at a sensible time, it's only 10.45 and already I've had a bath and am just about ready to go to bed.
