I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
It was rather a late night last night but even so I was surprised that I didn't wake up till 11.45am. I'm not a breakfast eater though and I wasn't especially interested in going to workshops so that didn't present a big problem. Thought I'd just turn up arond lunchtime and then hang out for a while before going to Carmarthen to pick-up one of the bands. Since the orchard fencing has been reinforced we decided to let the horses in there for a while so they could have a good munch out. That was fine, putting them back after only an hour and a half in there was less easy. Princess is very obliging indeed with letting me put the headcollar on but Nelly has other ideas. Often she will follow Princess into the field but not today. Today required a bit of trickery and chasing, but we did get her in there eventually.
Back up at the camp I somehow managed to get both the things that were on the lunch menu and they weren't bad but all this eating wholemeal food in a field leaves me with a craving for gak. I actually set off for Carmarthen a bit early, hoping no-one would notice.... I was after a piece of strawberry cheescake. I'm not sure how I did this, Carmarthen is not a large place and not overly endowed with big cake cafes but somehow the first place I walked into actually had cheescake with strawberries on top sitting right there in the fridge. I was a little concerned at how I was going to get another five women, all their luggage and instuments into the car especially when I saw the amount of luggage and instruments but somehow it all got in and somehow they fitted four across the back seat and after a stop off to let them stock up on beer and chocolate we got back to the site not long before dinner time. Dinner was very wholesome too.
Evening performance featured three sets. Camilla Cancantata (who's piano I had pulled up the hill) who managed to make Sappho sound like Ivor Cutler (no offence intendedd, this was amusing), followed by Melanie Harrold, a woman with a big big lovely voice and then the inevitable Lunar Cycles (I'm only saying that because there is a large overlap between the band members and the organising commitee.) Sian was doing her tribal disco after that but I had long ago decided not to stay for that but come home and fill this out.... I also did the entry for yesterday because I was too cold and tired last night.
