I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick
low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.
It even looked a little sunny this morning. let myself get up slowly and left from here to pick up another performer from Carmarthen. She was coming from London, having played last night and would be arriving on site just in time to do her workshop and then perform this evening so I had been primed to get supplies in for her. We got back in time to catch the end of lunch. I thought I was doing another pick-up in Carmarthen a couple of hours later but it turned out that she was arriving in Lampeter and not till 5.15pm so I got involved in vegetable preparation for dinner. I never want to see another aubergine as long as I live. It transpired during that chopping session that the woman who was meant to be getting picked up had been given a copy of the thursday timetable and not the saturday timetable. So I went off with another member of her band in the hope that she had managed to get on some bus or other, though not actually having a timetable it was hard to know when she might turn up. Of course there was no timetable on the bus stop when we got there but the old Welsh blokes in the menswear shop beside the bus stop reckoned there would be one in at half past. Sure enough it did turn up then and she was on it. There was a practice about to start when I got back for another live wave in the morning. I thought I would probably not need to bother, even if I had thought I could get up in time to do it, it was an open invitation to musicians to come and play so it wasn't like I would be needed. I think there was a somewhat of a rather short practice and they are supposed to be meeting again at 9.15am, which just makes it quite out of the question for me.
By then it was dinner time already.... I did not eat the meal with the aubergine in it. And then a whole long show of music.... to be honest I couldn't stay to the end.... it was 1.30am by then and I thought it was never going to be over. I'm seriously flagging and wanting to go to bed now, so please excuse me not going into the details.
