I started doing this diary in June, it's quite new. If you haven't been following have a look at the Cast of Characters which gives a quick low down on the essential day to day characters who are mentioned here...it will make more sense if you do.

Had to make myself get out of bed early enough to go into town before the farrier arrived. I'm not used to being there in the morning. Collected some dollars and travellers cheques which were in ludicrously small denominations and took about five minutes to sign. Also bought some evostick for the foam which is, I hope, arriving for my arm strap tomorrow. Same goes for the tickets. I do hate this kind of last minute incompetence.

Farrier was due "just after lunchtime" but the afternoon rolled on, five of the crazy wimmin arrived and were hanging out, trying to brush the horses, raiding food etc, and they were here most of the afternoon. The farrier never did show nor did he ever ring me back. Hopefully it will be sorted out somehow.

I have now realised that my sleeping bag takes up two thirds of my rucksack which was at first a bit alarming but I now think is posibly a good thing as it allows me to take very little else and that reduces the amount of weight I have to carry.

At this point I think I can safely say that almost everything is almost organised.
