2005 Annual Report

This has been a good year for the Community of St. Ninian. St. Ninian’s Well is officially the property of the Community (really it is God’s property and we only hold it in trust). We now will continue to up date and repair the Well, while having more money to give direct assistance. Sewer repair is our next big project as we deal with having a 100 year old house. Our membership has once again grown, we now have five members, with one member living at the Well. We continue to be thankful for the small group of people who support the community with their presence, prayers, and finances, as well as the support from the larger community. This past year we have house 12 people at the Well. In ten years in the Well we have housed 93 different persons ranging in age from 5 to their early 60s, 32 females and 61 males, and both gays and non-gays. Some guests have stayed more than once. The longest stay at one time by an individual was 433 days and the shortest was 1 day. The Well continues to be used for meetings and training by the Lesbian/Gay/PFLAG Helpline. Other groups are welcome to use the facility. The Community has provided $1679.00 in rent assistance to provide temporary housing or keep people in their own housing. We also provided $200.00 to assist with funeral arraignments for a person. We have donated to the following groups - Volunteer Ministries $200, Strength for the Journey $300, and Knoxville Interfaith Health Clinic $200. This year about 1/5 of our budget went to assist others outside of the housing we provide. Our Christmas and Thanksgiving Dinners, Ice Cream social, Christmas open house, Soup Supper, and meals and worship continue to be great times of staying in contact with the wider community. This has been a hard year health wise for some of our Community. We remain thankful for all the help we receive, We are grateful that when it seems there is no way to continue, God makes a way. We thank God and you for ten years of ministry at St. Ninian’s Well, and 14 years of ministry by the Community. Thanks be to God! Bob Galloway, prior
