I Loved My Brother
1984

My brother asked for help.
I felt his pain.
I asked Life to give him something better.

Life replied, "Aren't you in the best position to do that?"

I loved my brother.
I learned what Love is.

Footnote

A strange twist of fate allowed me to begin breaking down a major destructive pattern in my life. Attracted to a man with the potential to provide the same type of abusive relationship that my childhood circumstances had conditioned me to believe represented love, I soon discovered that this man was, like all of us, a heart that needed love. He was in serious pain and could easily have destroyed himself in the foreseeable future.

I made a choice. I sacrificed my own wants and needs to give him the love he so badly needed (his childhood was unspeakably horrible).

I learned what love is and what it is not. He went on to marry a woman. We are still friends, despite the fact that to his friends I'm a faggot and to my friends he's a low-life.

Love conquers all.

We have shared more love than I have ever found possible with a "lover".

I'm Hear was also written at this time, although to this day, he has never seen it.
