Here are some pictures of me at different ages. I still have to scan a few more, but this should give you an idea.
Here's me at my 12th birthday party. Scary how young I look! I've always looked younger than my age, but while it's a good thing now, I would've loved to look older back then.
This is a picture of my family back in 1987. I was about 16 years old. I'm wearing a Salvation Army uniform, as are my parents. They were both ministers in the Salvation Army at the time. I was a "Soldier", which roughly translates as "Lay-person" for those of you from my traditional religious backgrounds. I played the coronet and the euphonium in the band at church every Sunday. Those of you who know me now will kindly stop laughing, pleeze!
This is me with the Rolls Royce my friends and I rented for our senior high school prom in 1990, our graduating year.
This is a picture of my shipmates when I was in basic training in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1991-1992. I was a reserve member for about two years. I am back row, 5th from the left. (Just click on the picture to expand it.) While the Navy was interesting, and gave me an opportunity to do something I had always wanted to do, it became increasingly incompatible with my lifestyle. While things have gotten a lot better over the past ten years, they weren't great at the time. It was, however, a great experience!
This is me in 1993 (I think - perhaps 1994) at a rally for same-sex benefits. I'm wearing my U of Toronto jacket. If you could see the full detail, you'd note it has PolSci on the left sleeve, and 9T4 on the right. (Admittedly optimistic, considering I just graduated in 1999 after going part time for several years.)
This is me in L.A. in 1996. I visited my sister in December of that year for two weeks, and had a great time!
Here's another pic of me from the Los Angeles trip. (This was taken in the garden of my favourite coffee shop in LA. It's in West Hollywood, and was constructed in an old church. Little birds would land on the table and try to steal your muffin. I can't believe this was in December. I wanna live somewhere warm!!!
Pride Day 1997 - I'm wearing the lace lycra top (as if you needed to ask). Pete, Darryl and Steve are with me in the photo. We had a great time at Pride that year. The photo was taken in Darryl and my apartment, which was on Alexander St. in Toronto, steps away from the parade route. Note the considerably less conservative look, compared to the previous photos!
This photo was taken late 1999, so this is pretty much what I look like now.
This is the little townhouse I live in, in South Cabbagetown. (Which is another way of saying West Regent Park.)
