Level I | Level II | Level III
    Each Explorer has to keep a notebook.  In the notebook, they have a copy of the Post's Rules and Regulations and their levels of attainment.  There are three levels of attainment.  In order to ride, the explorers must have completed at least levels I and II.  The following are the Explorers levels of attainment:

Level 1

  1.     Completion of all entry level paperwork.
  2.     Review of Post 713's Rules and Regulations, Explorer Chain of Command, Start 200 Hour Community Service Program, and Start Physical Training Program.
  3.     Learn Fort Lauderdale Fire Department Chain of Command.
  4.     Learn all of the Departments Stations and Bureaus, mark them on a map of the city to be kept in the Explorers notebook.
  5.     Learn all standard equipment and its location on the Fire apparatus.
  6.     Gain a working knowledge of the Departments communication procedures.
Level II
  1.     Community First Aid and Safety (American Red Cross)
  2.     Radial and carotid pulses.  Counting Respirations.  Taking a Blood Pressure with a stethoscope and by palpation
  3.     Set up an Oxygen bottle and set flow.  Set up a nasal cannula and a non-rebreather mask.
  4.     C.P.R.
  5.     Identify parts, proper cleaning, and operation of the suction unit.
  6.     Have a working knowledge of a "C" collar and how to use them.
  7.    Have working knowledge of the Fire Department backboards and how to use them. 

Level III

    After successful completion of the Explorer Fire Academy, Explorers will have completed Level III training.
