The Crisp Point Lighthouse is located 15 miles West of Whitefish point. The remote location
of the Lighthouse prevents it from having as much traffic as some the more popular Lighthouse
along the Lake Superior shoreline. My wife and I discovered the Lighthouse back in the early 90's
after taking a daring ride through the sandy and rut filled snowmobile trials, which I might add
was rather nerve racking, just to get to the light but thanks to Don and Nellie Ross, the founders of
the Crisp Point Lighthouse Historical Society, The government of Luce county and the local Indian tribe,
the roads and condition of the Lighthouse has much improved over the past years. Be sure and follow
link on my links page to view the excellent site and learn more about the light and how you might
be able to become a part in preserving this piece of your martime history.
