Memorial weekend, 1994
This picture was taken Memorial Weekend - 1994. This was the first time I was able to ride a mountain bike from my campsite.
Fourth of July weekend, 1994
I love the freedom I feel when I cruise down the mountain on the Ritchey. Of course this picture indicates some of the freedom I truly love when I ride. I do hate helmets and I did not wear a helmet (consistantly) until the summer '97, when I reluctantly decided to choose to do so. However, I would not wear a helmet today, if I did not ride downhill like a speed demon, and if I did not believe that my flesh and bone could bleed or break when meeting a tree or rocks. As long as I respect the environment I will be safe, and so will the environment.
The next three pictures are taken from the top Little Emerson which is located to the south of Bakers Peak.
The view is astronomical and most breathtaking. Facing north you can see Wyoming, then when you face to the west you can see Utah. Reminds me of the song from The Who, "I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles....".
