The Early Years

August 15th

August holiday: this is when I was born, at Darfo Boario Terme (Lombardy, province of Brescia, northern Italy) from my dad Pietro and my mam Fausta.

Here I am at (only!) 6 months, in the arms of my daddy.

1980's

In 1982, got a diploma in Electronics at Tech. Inst. "B. Castelli" Brescia.
Military service in the Italian Air Force.
Start working for an electronic company in Milan, dealing with high tech power supply (EPC, Electronic Power Condictioner) used on space satellites (High Voltage power supply for TWTA - Travelling Wave Tube Amplifiers-). I was working in the Product Assurance (Quality) dept., involved in several projects, mainly managed by the European Space Agency (ESA). They were: OLYMPUS, SPOT, ERS-1 and ERS-2, EUTELSAT FII, Beppo-SAX and, in the recent days, ARTEMIS, CASSINI and Polar Platform.
Milan is quite far from Darfo Boario Terme (about 62 miles / 100 Km) and for that reason I was living in Milan during the working days (from monday morning up to friday afternoon), in a small apartment.

Each friday afternoon, when coming back to my parents house at Darfo Boario Terme, the desire of living more in contact with mountains (after having spent days in the city) was so strong that I decided to be part of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI). In spring 1986 I was following a free-climbing course, very interesting.

1991

Participation in the ESA Symposium "Space Product Assurance for Europe in the 1990s", held at ESTEC Noordwijk, The Netherlands, on 15 - 19 April 1991.
My collegue Silvano Ronchi and myself prepared and presented a paper for the Symposium, titled "Improving Cost / Efficiency: How We Act in Practice".

1992

On june 6th, married to Gianna Rosa. Honeymoon at the Bahamas (wonderful !).
We are living in Lovere.

1994

after almost 10 years of 5-days-a-week single-life in Milan, I changed the job: from Milan to Costa Volpino (only 1,8 miles / 3 Km from Lovere), for a multinational company (Italy, Germany, France and U.S.A., with headquarters in Paris), acting in the stainless steel cold working field (completely another world, with respect to my first job experience, but, you know, .........
At present, I am deeply involved in the SAP R/3 modules implementation among the companies (through a WAN), getting a quite good experience on the so-called Variant Configurator (materials, characteristics, values, tables and dependancies).

1995

On december15th, Stefano, our beloved child, is born!

From that time on, most of the free-time is spent with him, looking after him, playing with him, etc.
