Backpacking Dogs

What could be better than sharing the great outdoors with friends, both human and dog? Recently, a group of malamute owners got together for a 13-mile hike at Kil-So-Quah Campground, Huntington, Indiana. There were a total of 13 people, ranging in age from 4 to 40+, and 9 malamutes. At least 6 dogs earned legs toward their Working Pack Dog title (WPD).

All of the dogs loved the hike; mine were still pulling on the leash after 13 miles! And then they participated in the weight pull the next day!

Comet and Glacier each earned their second leg toward their WPD title. We should be able to finish their titles this spring.

Here are some pictures from our little excursion.
