Welcome to my world! My name is Leesa, and I share my world with my husband, Rhyde, and our two boys, Comet and Glacier. They are Alaskan Malamutes (aka "mals"). They enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities, like hiking, backpacking, running, biking, weight pulling, sledding, etc. They are both working and show dogs. Comet has eleven points so far towards his conformation championship and has earned his WTD (Working Team Dog), his WWPD (Working Weight Pull Dog), and his WWPDX (Working Weight Pull Dog Excellent) titles. He finished his WWPDX by pulling an amazing 3505 pounds at the Cleveland, Ohio, weight pull on December 13, 1999. This was his second 3000+ pull! Glacier has his WWPD and the first of five legs needed for his WWPDX. His high pull to date is 1819 pounds, also accomplished at the Cleveland weight pull. We are very proud of both of our boys!! We will be working on putting a WPD (Working Pack Dog) title on both boys this year. These titles, and many others, are offered through the Alaskan Malamute Club of America (AMCA) and are available for all registered Malamutes.
My mals' registered names are Tarnish's Artic Streak, WTD, CGC, WWPD, WWPDX (Comet) and Tarnish's Mountain Majestic, CGC, TT, WWPD (Glacier). They are full brothers (share the same mother and father) but 13 months apart in age. Comet was born on 10 May 1995, is 24.5 inches tall and weighs 85 pounds. Glacier was born on 15 June 1996, is 24.5 inches tall and weighs 77 pounds. Both are still growing!
This site is devoted to the Alaskan Malamute, in all its amazing aspects - working, showing, playing and just clowning around. Please take some time to explore these wonderful dogs. Enjoy the photos and descriptions, and please PAWS a moment to sign my guestbook before you leave. Thanks for visiting!
