LITTLE BOY BITTEN BY RATTLESNAKE
Little Tilden Smith, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Smith, Jr., was bitten by a ground rattle snake last Friday. He displayed unusual presence of mind and at once tied a cord around his arm just above the wound.
When he had pulled it as tight as he could, he got a stick and drew it up still tighter. Then he killed the snake which was a large one and went home. His parents rushed him to the Douglas Hospital where immediate treatment was given. He responded to the treatment and was soon able to go home.
Such presence of mind as he displayed is rarely found in a child of that age.
