Brenda and Jason continued to try and find a way out of the wilderness but it wasnt going well. They were having trouble finding water but Brenda was optimistic. She made a deal with Jason, she would hope for the best and he could expect the worst. As night fell Jason told her they had to stay awake and the two began talking. Brenda tried to explain fairy tales to Jason but couldnt get him to understand their appeal. Brenda gave up on the fairy tales and told Jason about the time they went to the prom together, before Jason's accident. She told him they were good friends in those days and he didnt start to dislike her until after he found out about her wearing the wire on Sonny. Jason agreed. Brenda told him she would never have used the wire to send Sonny to jail but that when she found out how Sonny had been lying to her for so long she didnt know who to trust anymore. Jason told her that Sonny still loved Brenda after the wire incident, it was Jason who couldnt forgive her. Brenda asked Jason to tell her the truth about why Sonny left but before Jason could say anything they heard a helicopter. They tried to draw its attention but the helicopter headed off. Brenda told Jason he needed to leave her and go get some help but he didnt want to leave her alone. Brenda told him she was confident that Jax would come for her. She tried to explain how Jax made her feel and how she felt when she was with him and Jason said he knew because thats how he felt about Robin. Brenda told him her worries for Robin but said that she knew that Robin and Jason really loved each other. Brenda asked him again why Sonny left and told him she needed to know so she could put Sonny behind her and go on with her life. Jason looked as if he was about to tell her when they heard Jax's voice calling out for Brenda. Jax and Brenda embraced as she told him she knew he would come for her.
Brenda was hospitalized for her injury and the doctor told Brenda she needed to have surgery to repair her hip once and for all but Brenda said no, she was afraid she'd become addicted to painkillers again. That night she had a nightmare concerning the plane crash but Jax comforted her and promised to take her to Malibu to recover again. Brenda agreed to the plan as long as they didnt go by plane. Jax said they'd take the train and asked Jerry to book their seats. Jerry did but didnt let them know that he had booked them on a train full of bickering couples headed for marriage counseling as a last resort before divorcing. Admidst all the arguing, Brenda and Jax realized how good their relationship really was. Jax let Jerry know that his plans to break them up backfired. Once in Malibu, Brenda made plans to show Jax just how much she loved him and how committed she was to making their relationship work. They spent the day together, roaming the beach and Malibu.
That evening they met on the beach where Jax told Brenda how hurt he was when Brenda left him for Sonny. But he never stopped loving her and he'd never had any regrets over the time they did have together. Brenda told him of her love for him and promised him she knows what she wants now and knows who she belongs with. Jax told her he would now accept her marriage propasal and they both promised that this time no one leaves. They kissed and spent a romantic evening together.
When they returned to PC, Brenda told Robin about the trip and her engagement while Jax told Jerry. They attended the Baccanalia Ball together and had a great time. They left early and once home Brenda found out about Katherine's fall. She wss concerned about Robin so called Jason's penthouse. At the penthouse earlier Robin had filled in a returned Sonny on Brenda's breakdown and made him promise not to contact Brenda. When the phone rang Sonny picked it up and when he heard Brenda's voice he kept silent. Brenda felt that Sonny was back and headed to the penthouse to find out. She found Sonny and told him about what happened after he left and how badly he hurt her. Then she told him she was beyond that now and knew he did it to save her life. She thanked him and told him goodbye. Later Sonny told Jason that he would love Brenda forever and die thinking of her.
Brenda insisted that her Parisian photo shoot be held in NY and took Robin and Emily with her. They had a great day and Jax unexpectedly showed up. That evening Jax presented Brenda with a beautiful white gown and took her to a special theater for dinner and a show. It turned out that Jax had rented the whole theater just for the two of them. They talked and Brenda told Jax about her childhood and how she always felt that something was wrong with her. She talked about how she would pretend to be someone else and Jax asked her to act out one of the characters she memorized. She did so and afterwards Jax applauded and they danced. When they returned home, Jax asked Brenda about her mother and she told him what little she knew, saying that her mother supposedly died somewhere on the Riviera.
