The Wonderous Works of Kat Hughes
Kat Hughes--what can I say about the dear thing? An incredibly skilled writer, a spectacular beta, and a friend who writes pages of interesting email. Met the girl when she sent me a critical analysis of my stories one night--and when I say critical, I mean CRITICAL. So of course, I asked her to start beta-ing for me--and then went a-searching for her works.
Dear God, where the hell has she been hiding?
Anyway, I nagged a little while (and constantly, but that is neither here nor there) and she let me put up a page to showcase her incredible diversity of talent--no character scares her, she can write them all, and with a sense of humor I can only envy and that eye for angst I dream of owning. Her P/T is exceptional and she has a talent for writing Harry that never ceases to intrigue me.
So here, for the veneration of the masses, are the complete--I think--works of Kat Hughes, one of the greatest fanfic writers I know. Have a blast.

Kat's Note:
Prefers beta-reading and making bad jokes as opposed to actual writing, but has a few things up her sleeves that may, sometime soon, come coughing and sputtering out of the hard disk...well, maybe one day...

Summary/Author Notes: Just to warn people, this is one depressing story. Not depressingly bad I hope, just a little erm, well it...okay, it is tragic and heart rendering. But it was written at 3am, while I played The Sunday's at full blast and watched "The Way We Were." Not that any of that has any bearing on the story, it just might go some way to explaining...well, what would possess me. I'll stop babbling now...

The "Starting From Zero" Universe
Using the vaguest of interpretations of Jeri Taylor's "Pathways", Kat builds a great alternate universe between Tom in the Maquis and the joining of Voyager and the Maquis ship in Caretaker. A must read for fans of Tom Paris, Paris/Torres, and anyone who enjoys a well-written story.
Codes: P, T
Summary: Pre-Voyager: Tom and B'Elanna get to know each other in the Maquis.
Rated: PG-13
Codes: Crew, C, J, P/T, K, Seska, Tuvok
Summary: Voyager's first proper day in the good old Delta Quadrant. Chakotay's having problems. Janeway's having problems. Paris, as always, seems to find a way out of his. Harry gets drunk. Torres does something against her better judgement. Seska was so much fun, wasn't she?
Rated: NC-17, for sex and language
