Sunset Beach January 6, 1997 - December 31, 1999 Well, folks, it's over. No more "Sunset Beach." Everyone associated with the show has moved on, and it's passed by just as quickly as it came. And everyone deserves a big cheer for all the hard work they put in. So, every few days, we'll be spotlighting a different cast member, starting in alphabetical order with the cast, then some of the bigger recurring characters, and then moving on to crew. CHRISTINA CHAMBERS Character: Maria Torres People had their mixed opinions about Maria and Christina, but I loved them both. Christina brought a real-life feeling to Maria. She seemed like someone you could meet any moment, very human. With Maria's long, long, (long) battle with amnesia, then just selective amnesia, she made you feel her frustration too, as if you were the one who couldn't remember and were racking your brain over it. And when she got Ben (of course, it was really Derek), we felt her joy even if we didn't think Maria should be with Ben. And when she lost him in the end, we lost it with her. It was heartbreaking when Ben chose Meg over Maria, she took it so valiantly but was just breaking down inside. Then finally, the glimpse of her future came when she met the man she would spend the rest of her life with; and we cheered. Christina was very down-to-earth. Her acting allowed you to go through everything with the character instead of watching from the outside. - Duante
