About USA Musume
USA Musume is a group of cosplayers based out in California who are fans of Hello Project and Morning Musume, a popular music group in Japan. USA Musume members come from many established cosplay teams in California including Anything Goes School of Masquerade Arts, Ah! My Cosplay, Infornography Cosplay, Double Cosplay Attack, and Cosplay Marionettes to name a few. Even though we are from different teams, we all share a love of cosplay and enjoy the music of Morning Musume. This is something that we do for fun, and just a hobby for all of us.

What is Cosplay?
Cosplay is short for Costume Play, which was popularized in Japan with people dressing up as their favorite Anime characters and acting like them in order to show their support. Cosplay is a commercial industry in Japan with merchandising stores such as COSPA selling costumes of popular anime and video game characters for people to wear. The definitions of cosplay have been extended somewhat with cosplayers costuming from other sources including J-Rock and other topics.

Why USA Musume?
U. S. A. Musume. It rhymes. It's also fitting since we are based in California. Sure we could have gone for Palm Tree Musume, Thick Layer of Smog Musume or Red White and Blue Musume, USA Musume is to the point.

Inspiration
The formation of USA Musume is largely attributed to the inspiration of Kuchan of AGSMA.

Members
USA Musume is not currently accepting any new members. We are terribly sorry, but there are no applications, auditions or casting calls to join USA Musume. This doesn't mean that we don't like to see other Morning Musume cosplayers however! We'd love to meet other fans and supporters of Morning Musume!

Costumes
Individual Members are responsible for the finances and construction of their own costumes, and hence they are not available commercially. Since the members have experience in cosplay, they are generally familiar with aspects of costume design and construction such as sewing, hemming, trim, rhinestones, etc. The costumes are tailor made to fit the individual member. Materials alone for these costumes can run in the low hundreds of dollars.
