A childhood dream. Back then, the black current bushes in the garden seemed like a jungle. I’d use a piece of wood to shoot at aircraft while peering through the leafy canopy. So, not surprisingly, when I dreamed of ground to air combat, that’s where it took place. In the dream I was back in my jungle, with a small pile of carrots that were growing wrinkly and dry.
Overhead, the sky was a vivid deep blue and incredibly clear. Then I noticed that the sky was full of silver jet fighters, flying at altitude, some in echelon formation, some breaking off to dogfight. Then I started throwing the carrots in to the air. Instead of falling, they just kept going upward till they hit a jet, causing it to explode. Hence the title.
The arm is mine and you are viewing the scene thrugh my eyes. This bold work has proved quite an attention grabber and certainly a conversation piece.
