About Me

I started this site a few years ago as an example and help site for my college students and it became a hobby that I very much enjoy.  At the time I worked at Atlantic Business College and taught VB4, HTML, Access, Excel, Intro to Computers, and Networking.  I knew that I wanted to go even deeper into IT and further my education, so I finished my Master's in Information Technology Education in May 1999. For a few months after graduation I worked as part of a team of curriculum developers at Holland College.  Our primary task was to create curriculum for an IT program, and to make it available for on campus and distance education students.  In September of 1999 I began teaching at a different college  (ITI) and there I was able to specialize in ONE subject area...Visual Basic.  I taught Object Oriented Programming in Visual Basic 6 which also included: Object Oriented Analysis and Design (using UML, Visual Modeller, and Deborah Kurata's GUIDS methodology), N-tiered application development/deployment [on an NT network using MTS], and intro to ASP's and IIS.

I am about to embark on yet another interesting facet in my life, as I am leaving ITI and joining  NBCC as an IT instructor.  In my spare time I enjoy teaching aerobics, making graphics, and generally just hanging out with my husband.  He is also in the IT industry ( a Senior Network Engineer). We met at university when I was 18 and he was 20 ... that was 13 years ago and things get better every year!   :)  Are you bored yet?  Then go back to browsing my site!
