History of the Land of Five Cities

100 g.d. Leader brings small group from Northlands out of reach of Tarantin and Attrice.
700 Rise of the Empire of Sand.
1600 Raskha Kuul leads army against giants.
1630 Majority of giants gone, rest scattered. Fighting with giants continues to small degree for several centuries.
2600 Internal struggles lead to fall of the Empire of Sand.
3100 Prosperity without emperor. Free market system.
3600 Re-emergence of emperor. Second Empire controls all areas south of the Great Desert.
4300 Villagers migrate into five central locations during lean times. Cities are walled for protection from bandit raids.
4800 Magical discovery that greens desert plains. Time of rich and plenty for all. Banditry all but stops. Giants tolerated more.
5700 Overuse of magic causes magical instability, causing dead rift to form.
5760 People start moving into mountain villages for greener hillsides, more water and less banditry.
5830 Time of decadence. No trade. Famine.
5920 Plague sweeps entire land killing large percentage of people.
6010 Raids from barbarian hordes of Tokiwa-Dai and the Southlands.
6070 Tornados destroy Daghab. Rebuilt into modern trade center. Large population growth from migrations.
6160 Movement into giantish lands.
6240 Skirmishes with giants over Lowland Hills and plains continue.
6330 Slave revolt. Many slaves killed. Harsher punishments placed on rebellious slaves.
6390 Magical discovery causes Great Sandstorm. Permanent, magical barrier thought impossible to traverse.
6440 Last great union of Walled Cities corrupted, falls.
6530 Yak Men migrate from the Southlands into mountains. Stake claim and gain reputation as evil and unreasonable. Take those who they don't kill as slaves.
6630 Seer of Waru - united five cities with religion.
6720 Holy war begins between cities. Ideological differences between religious leaders lead to break up of the one major of Waru.
6727 Coming of the Prophet. Prophet recognized as the true voice of Waru on earth.
6733 Rebellion by followers of old religions. All but defeated, they are forced to worship in remote areas. Waru becomes one and only god of the Walled Cities and most villages and nomadic tribes.
6736 Thri-Kreen invasion. Number of thri-kreen match number of human nomads in desert. Vying for power.
6738 The Darkening. Tornados, earthquakes and great tidal waves batter all the land.
