The seek to make thier homes safe by seeking a secluded hilly area or groves of blood trees. They typically use 2-12 large falcons and/or 2-8 mountain lions as guards for their home.

The favored weapons of the red elves are bow and sword (35%), spear and sword (35%) or one single weapon: bow, spear or sword (10% each).

Like their cousins of the forest, red elves are 90% resistant to charm and sleep spells of all sorts. They have infravision to 60' and can detect secret and concealed doors from one-third to one-half the time. They are resistant to all forms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion, even able to wear metal armors during the daytime without penalty.

Habitat/Society: The elves live in areas seldom seen by other demi-humans. The red desert starts in the mountains, transcends into baeern rocky steppes and finally into flat dried up plains of red clay. Patches of blood trees spot the lanscape, many growing up around small naturla pools or springs, the oasis of the desert.

The villages are sparcely more than tents or lean-tos, durable and portable. It's not uncommon for bands to move on to newer grounds when contested by other more powerful bands. When in the desert areas, red elves can blend into their surroundings with 95% efficency. They can also move quietly in these areas 95% of the time, making them extremely hard to locate.

Ecology: Red elves live off the land, scavenging plants which grow in the dry area. They hunt small game for food but realize they must co-exist with the wildlife for they are part of the circle of life. A small percentage (1%) actually become druids to help preserve the nature of the desert.

One thing the red elves are most known for is their glass art. Fragile yet beautiful, the elves have mastered the art of glass blowing and forming glass products from the red sand that makes up the more southern parts of the red desert. Trade for these items is high as they are prized outside the elven community as rare and valuable artworks.
