201 - Killer Instinct
Cohen: Detective Knight, are you all right, or are you just communing with the cosmos?
Jenette: Oh, Nichola you are more mortal than ever.
Nick: Don't mock me!
Jenette: Somebody has to.
Nat: I know, I can't send a sample of your tissue to the lab, because there would be a team of medical researchers down here so fast it'd make your head spin.
Nat to Schanke: If the lab got hold of a real sample of Nick's, that could be the end of his career!
LaCroix: I made you!
Nick: What you made was a mistake!
LaCroix: Where's the lasting value, Nicholas? Blink and they'll all be ghosts, blink and they'll be gone!
Female police officer: Does anybody know why this guy would have blood in his refrigerator?
202 - A Fate Worse than Death
Jenette: The women are welcome, the men who think they own them are not!
Jenette: I am not honey!
Jenette: You of all people should know what her life is like. Trapped in world of darkness with no way out and no escape from the hold of the master over her!
Jenette: Back then a woman belonged to her father, then to her husband, to be passed on to a servant if she failed to produce an heir, to be sold to the brothel keeper if she was in the way of another marriage.
Jenette: You're old enough now to know the difference between not guilty and innocent.
LaCroix: What I offer cannot be bought or sold.
LaCroix: You've heard it said that living well is the best revenge Au Contraire, living forever is the best revenge!
Jenette after draining her ex-pimp: La melliure revenge, c'est revenge(The best revenge, is revenge.)
Janette: A thousand years, Nicolas. A thousand years, and the world has not changed. These women are still property.
They find Janette by the dead pimp.
Natalie: Janettewouldn't have?
Nick: She wouldn't have used bullets.
Natalie: Right.
Nick: It's about how we live in captivity. And we must escape or die trying.
[GWD: It's about how we live in captivity. We try to escape or we die trying. Shit. (This was a blooper.)]
203 - Stranger than Fiction
LaCroix to Nick: Give in to what you are!
Killer: What are you?
Nick: What you *pretend* to be.
LaCroix: That will be trouble.
Schanke: And they can hypnotize their victims, did you know that?
Nick: That would be cheating.
Schanke: Oh, you're saying you wouldn't?
Emily to Nick, stating the obvious: You really are... a vampire.
Nick finds Schanke reading the vampire novel.
Nick: It's a nice change from the funny pages, huh, Schank?
Janette: Mon cher, you've been spending too much time in the sun.
Natalie: You know, Nick, women sometimes do take a second look at you.
204 - Bad Blood
Nick to LaCroix: So that's what's bothering you, is it? You've finally met someone as depraved as you are!
205 - Forward Into the Past
Schanke: Madame Natasha's psychic readings? I wonder if she has something for a precinct captain's hex?
Schanke: If you ask me, this Eva lady is one piece of lamb short of a souvlaki, if you get my drift.
Jenette: I was just about to indulge in one of my finest vintages. Care to join me?
Aristotle: Nicholas, I can't believe it is it time already?
Aristotle: I don't do mortals!
Schanke: I haven't had that much fun grilling somebody since Myra drove the Cordoba into a ditch.
Nick to Hunter: Come to me!
Hunter: What would you give me if I let you live, hmm?
Nick: A taste of hell!
Nick to Hunter: You are everything I detest!
Nick to Nat: If by irritation you mean the feeling that a thousand scorpions had stung me all at once, yes, thank you very much. The irritation has stopped.
206 - Capital Offense
Nightcrawler: However worthless you feel my friend. However bleak it all seems in the end you can come to me. You'll always have something that I value, part of you that I'll always welcome. Trust me. Because I am the Nightcrawler and I want all of you to love me.
Nick: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Schanke: Only if you're thinking about Myra in hip-waders.
207 - Hunted
Schanke: Nick's got the hots for the shooter, I call him the garbageman.
Nick: Okay Schank, I'll bite. Why the garbageman?
Nick: What are we hunting?
Lacroix: A hunter!
LaCroix: They say if you love someone let them go, if they really yours they will learn their lessons and return....You will come back Nicholas, I can wait! I have all the time in the world!
Nat: Why did you go back out into the sun at the power station? Did you think to yourself, 'Oh, today would be a good day to spontaneously combust'?
208 - Faithful Followers
Schanke to Nat: Weird is BAU... Business As Usual, for Nick.
Schanke: You didn't see the way he was looking at me!
Nat: How?
Schanke: The thousand yard stare Nick Knight of the living dead!
Jenette: He is a wolf, they are poodles.
Cohen: How well do you know your partner?
LaCroix: Normally I hate to lose, but the look of utter foolishness on your face makes it all worthwhile!
209 -- Undue Process
210 -- Father's Day
Nick: Even when they try to kill you, they're still your family.
Jenette: He's gone just forget him. We can get a new one!
LaCroix: I don't want a new one! I like that one!!
Nightcrawler: It's a beautiful night out there, boys and girls. I haven't seen a night quite like this in a hundred years...
LaCroix to Constatine: Be careful. I do tend to take things literally!
Nat: Oh please, you're making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
LaCroix: Let's see what your friend Schanke has to say about that. Shall we? A father provides love, discipline, guidance, protection, and support.
Nick: He left out freedom.
LaCroix: So would I!
LaCroix: It's always about what they want. Isn't it? They can be so thoughtless.
LaCroix: They say if you love someone, let them go. If they're really yours they will learn their lessons and return. You will be back, Nicholas. I can wait. I've all the time in the world.
211 -- Can't Run, Can't Hide
Nightcrawler: I'm listening also. I hear your thoughts. You feel you're alone, but you're not. I feel your pain, your frustration, your hunger for justice. I am the Nightcrawler. I feel everything. Come to me. Now!
Nightcrawler: I can be your strength when you have none. I can be your wisdom, your truth. And all you need to share with me is your very soul.
212 -- Near Death
Nat: Since I can't list death as the cause of death Well you see my predicament.
Nat: What's with Doctor Doom?
Nick: Myra's birthday.
LaCriox to Nick: Give your life to me and I will give you a thousand lifetimes in return.
Jenette to Nick: A Choice? If you call death a choice. I however did not see it that way, neither did you!
213 -- Crazy Love
214 -- Baby, Baby
Nightcrawler: In thirty-one minutes the moon will be perfectly full. The night will be at its absolute brightest, as close to day as it ever becomes. How do you feel about the moon, about how it translates the light of the sun? Do you believe in magic?
LaCroix: I mean it drips with irony, doesn't it, that your mistake your victim, can achieve the mortality that you've sought for so long, and in a way that you have no hope of repeating. I mean, nature's so unkind. So sexist.
Nick: LaCroix, I am asking for your help.
LaCroix: And it's becoming a bad habit.
215 -- Partners of the Month
Nightcrawler: In my way I love you all, and I want your love back.
Nick: He made me bacon and eggs for breakfast!
Nat: Oh come on, you're almost eight hundred years old! What's an egg?
Schanke: What happens to a person when they leave the love of their lives looking for cheap, quick thrills? Jenette: In my case, usually homicide.
Cohen: Stay on it, both of you!
Cohen to Nick and Schanke: And stop acting like you're married.
Schanke to Janette: Is it me, or did we just walk into a Sinatra song?
216 -- The Fire Inside
LaCroix to Nick: Why travel with us if you wont hunt?
LaCroix: Theyre expendable! They are lunch!
217 -- Amateur Night
Nick to Alex: Why don't you take Schanke seriously? He's a real cop!
Nick: What are you doing here?
LaCroix: Oh, the usual, making your life a living hell!
Schanke: This job, it changes us! It sets us apart!
Schanke:Is there any way to take caffeine intravenously?
Nick to IA investigator: Dead cops are much easier to slander. Aren't they?
Nick: A vampire virus?
LaCroix to Nick: A father knows when his children are in pain. He senses it as keenly as he senses their rejection of his generosity.
LaCroix to Nick: You're deluding yourself. You have merely substituted one dependence for another. And what have you gained in the bargain? Pain, sickness, the promise of certain decay?
Nick to LaCroix: I'm not yours any more!
LaCroix to Nick: We ARE each other. You will always be mine Eternally!
Nick to Nat: This whole experiment goes down the tubes if I spontaneously combust in the middle of Bay Street, doesn't it?
Nat: It's not a cure, Nick, It's a fix!
LaCroix: If this is the cure, give me the disease.
Natalie: You just went through a red light!
Nick: I did? Haha, come on! Well, give me a ticket, I've got friends who can fix that!
219 - Curiouser and Curiouser
Schanke to Nick: It's your favorite all night boogie man, the Nightcrawler, stabbed in the heart.
Nick: LaCroix is dead, our master is dead!
Jenette: Oh no, not this vampire nonsense again!
Nightcrawler: My, my, aren't we in a mood tonight?
Nightcrawler: Is the sun shining in the middle of your night?
LaCroix: I don't like being dead. It's... quite annoying, actually.
LaCroix: My, my, we are in a mood tonight.
Nightcrawler: Beware the Jabberwock, my son, the jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Nightcrawler: Nicholas, come to slay the Jabberwock?
Nightcrawler: "One, two! One, two! And through and through, his vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
LaCroix: Guilt is a disease we cannot control!
LaCroix: Eight centuries rising to haunt you.
LaCroix: Hast thou slain the Jaberwock?
Schanke: What is this, some kind of kinky wake?
'Captain' Natalie Lambert: Oh, poor boy, did it go down the wrong way?
Amanda: Mad as a hatter.
Nick: Delusional?
Amanda: Not unless you really were a vampire.
Nick: I claimed I was a vampire?
220 -- Beyond the Law
LaCroix: What a decade this has turned out to be. War. Riot. Assassination. The Age of Aquarius indeed!
221 -- The Queen of Harps
Schanke to Nick: So what's this all about? And if your gonna say hunch, I'm gonna have to hit you!
Gwenyth: Tis ashwood and lire, but it has a soul.
Nick to Cohen: What do you know? I should have been F9ing when I was F10ing.
Nick to Gwenyth: What foolishness. Lord de Labarre was right. You cling to your paganism like lichen to a stone.
Joanna: I think things happen for a reason. There is a reason for you too.
Nick: I hope so.
222 -- Close Call
Nick: You drive, I'll ride. In the trunk.
Schanke: Come on, Nick, you're not that allergic to sunshine. A tan'll do you good.
Nick:I don't tan. I don't burn. I implode.
Janette to Schanke: Nicolas, weird, you say?
Schanke: I'm telling you, Natalie, she hypnotized me! Nick too!
Nat: She hypnotized Nick?
Schanke: They made me forget and that's all I remember.
Vera: Allergic to sun... Hypnotize... Needs blood... Oh, you're looking for a vampire, right?
Schanke: Okay... I'm here because I... I want to talk about Nicholas.
Nightcrawler: What do you want to know?
Schanke: Is he a vampire? Are you?
Nightcrawler: You tell me.
Schanke: Okay, I know, I know this is going to sound crazy, but lately, there's been a lot of weird stuff that just hasn't been adding up. Nick rides in the trunk, he can't go out in the sun, one minute he's here, the next minute he's gone, like a bat. Did you know, get this, that we found blood in his icebox?
Nightcrawler: Human blood?
Schanke: No, he had blood from a steer.
Nightcrawler: Oh.
Schanke: I know, my sentiments exactly, that's what I said. He says he uses it for painting.
Nightcrawler: Raphael showed him that.
Schanke: Huh?
Nightcraler: Tell me detective, what has changed in you to make these things so suddenly apparent?
Schanke: I dunno. I do know I had a real bad night last night.
Nightcrawler: I know the feeling well.
Schanke: Do you? I got into a fire-fight, Nick could tell you all about it. I had to waste a guy.
Nightcralwer: Awful thing, to waste people.
Schanke: It is. I killed him. I had no choice.
Nightcrawler: And how did you feel, Detective Schanke?
Schanke: How'd it make me feel? Not real good, I can tell you. I found out after that the guy had a family, you know? Maybe he was rotten to them, but I know that somewhere some kid is thinking about his dad, wondering what happened, wondering what life's going to be like without him.
Nightcrawler: No, no, no, no, no, no. When you killed this man, did you feel a surge of strength within you, a burst of adrenaline?
Schanke: No. No. It wasn't anything like that. No matter what anybody says it wasn't anything like that. Well, I gotta admit, my heart was beating like a rabbit. The guy did have the draw on me. You know, it would have been curtains if if if Nick wasn't there to save my ass. Oh, jeeze. Have I been an idiot! I've been running around all day butting my nose into Nick's affairs when the guy saved my life. I'm a first class fool.
Nighcrawler: You're tired, Detective. Under tremendous stress. Stress and trauma. Any shock to the system will prey on the imagination fill us with bizarre obsessions, fantasies if you like.
Schanke: Yeah, Yeah.
Nightcrawler: Go home, detective. Go home to your family and let Nicholas be with his Us. Janette and myself. We're the only family Nick has ever had.
Schanke: What're you saying, that he's adopted?
Nightcrawler: In a manner of speaking, yes.
Schanke: And um, he's not a
Nightcrawler: What do you think, really?
Schanke: I think I need a drink. Listen, ah, I just want to, ah, thank you for talking to me, Mr., ah, Mr., ah, Nightcrawler.
Nightcrawler: Only a real pleasure, Don.
Schanke: And, um, please, don't tell Nick about this ever!
Nightcrawler: Detective, you asked me if Nicholas is different. Au contraire. The Nicholas I know is very much like you. He doesn't like to kill people either.
Schanke: Thanks!
223 -- Be My Valentine
Nightcrawler: Does she love me, love me not? Or does it really matter? What hellish alchemy if it does.
Nightcrawler: And you say that love conquers all. Well, not for you, Saint Valentine. Not for me. Not for any of the heart-broken.
Jenette: Let them be Nicola. The attraction seems to be mutual.
Nick: It cannot be! Fleur is one who has always brought light. The world needs her mortal love.
LaCroix: Fleur is everything I am not!
LaCroix: Constant stars, the only comforting light. Kill the pain this incessant longing.
Nick: Myras a saint!
Nightcrawler: Love exists, rages within. A silent scream of endless pain. Hellish alchemy indeed, without equal. Not death, not hell itself, but a precious, precious flower, long withered and gone.
Nick about LaCroix: Maybe he's so down he brings me up.
Schanke: Okay. So he's a bit weird.
LaCroix: So who was this Saint Valentine? A bishop, Roman, third century, got his head sliced off - ouch - for marrying lovers against his emperor's decree.
224 -- The Code
Nightcrawler: Tonight your Nightcrawler is ruminating on friendship. I say a friend for life is a leech, someone who bleeds you. There is no real or lasting friendship, and no one is to be trusted. Who will challenge me on this. Who does not believe that all friendships must sour, slowly, imperceptibly, commenada la cloche. And in the end it's not the big lie that turns us into mortal enemies, but the little white lies that drive the wedges between us, poison our loyalty and blight our trust. Do you not agree? Let's discuss it then, friends.
Delehanty: Care for some lunch, Detective? I got some extra.
Nick: Uh, no, no, I don't think so. I'm on this liquid diet.
Schanke: You ever get so full of one life that you want another?
Nick: Yeah. Yeah, I've been there, I've done that.
225 -- A More Permanent Hell
Nightcrawler: Life will always find a way to cheat death. Life is the enemy we cannot defeat, only cling to like parasites on the living flesh of the universe. Hoping that we're not noticed and brushed away with a flick of the hand.
Divia to LaCroix: I must get my vicious streak from you.
Jenette: Dr. Lambert, this is not a very good place for a mortal to act as if she doesn't care what happens to her!
Nick to LaCroix: Well, if you don't like what's on the menu you can always leave!
LaCroix: I have been delivered from death to a more permanent hell.
LaCroix: And we are truly eternal?
Divia: Yes Father.
LaCroix: You were right, Divia. Damn you for it!
Brianna: Where's your mortal friend?
Jenette: She's lying down in the back. She's not my friend!
Nick to soldier: Get your feet off my desk.
226 -- Blood Money
Nick: Is he capable of murder?
Jenette: Arent we all?
Nick: You taught me to take what I desire!
LaCroix: I taught you to take what you need!
Nat: Are you all right Schank?
Schanke: Yeah, my name is Donald G. Schanke, and its Tuesday.
